Performance Tuning For ColdFusion Applications

My fellow colleague, Kunal Saini has written an article on Performance tuning for ColdFusion applications. This is a very informative and well-written article that talks about Performance tuning with Java Virtual Machine parameters, Performance tuning with ColdFusion Administrator, Coding best practices for ColdFusion performance and also presents a Case study: BlogCFC. At the end, he has also attributed me for my contribution to this article.

Chennai CFUG tour

Myself and Raghunath Thircovil attended the Chennai CFUG tour on 27th June. The venue, Dee Cee Manor was pretty good. We were warmly received by Akbarsait, Chennai ColdFusion Group Manager and his folks. There were close to 100+ attendees.

The presentation started at 10:30AM. Initially Raghu presented on Flex, Flex Builder and Flex Catalyst. I then presented on the new features of Centaur, the next version of ColdFusion and Bolt, the new ColdFusion IDE. The presentation was well received and highly interactive. The presentation was scheduled for 1 ½ hr but went up to 2 ½ hr due to the huge number of questions asked by the audience. They were visible excited about the new features of Centaur and looking forward for the public beta. After my presentation, Raghu did a hands-on session on Flex and then, we winded up.

Food was good. Audience were awesome. The branding too was good – they had made a CD cover and posters exclusively for the event. The only problem was the disturbance from the adjacent discotheque. Overall, the event went well and professionally organized. All the credit goes to Akbarsait and Ali Asghar.

For the Chennai CFUG: Guys, you have been a wonderful audience. I would like to meet you again. Do be in touch through blogs and e-mail. Please do not hesitate to mail me at pkiran@adobe.com or add a comment to this blog regarding your questions. I will try my best to get it answered.

Some pics for this event are here and here.
