Bangalore ColdFusion User Group Meet
As I had posted earlier, the Bangalore CFUG’s first meet happened at the Adobe premises in Bangalore on July 9th 2009. There were close to 25 registrations but only 12 folks had turned up (thanks to rain). Most of them were between 0-2 years of experience in ColdFusion.
Bhakti talked about Adobe ColdFusion Builder and I followed it up by presenting the new features of Adobe ColdFusion 9. It was almost the same material that I had presented in the Chennai CFUG event couple of weeks ago. The crowd was interactive and asked quite a few questions. The winners were PDF Enhancements, Office doc interop, Spreadsheet Interop, ORM and of-course Adobe ColdFusion Builder. BTW, many thanks for the efforts of Saravanamuthu Jeyraj for arranging this event.
To the Bangalore CFUG: Guys, this is a good start. Keep it going. Bhakti said that there are more than 250+ ColdFusion developers in Bangalore (May be even more). Try and get all of them under this umbrella. This will help share ColdFusion knowledge and organize training sessions on any specific topics as required and more. The Chennai guys are 2 years into it and have done a good job. Do feel free to contact Akbarsait, Chennai CFUG manager, to learn from their experiences about expanding/running the group.
